The Friends of the Hotchkiss Library was formed in March, 2015, as a support and advocacy group. Officers are co-chairs, Carol Ascher and Tom Gruenewald; secretary, Linda Beech; and treasurer, Dorothy Felske. In addition to supporting Board fundraising efforts and distributing posters and organizing receptions for library events, the Friends have been working with the library and Board to improve the building’s accessibility. They have also begun to expand the library’s literacy assistance project through Literacy Volunteers on the Green.
The Friends meet monthly on Saturdays from noon to 1pm in the Reading Room and enthusiastically welcome new members. To join or for further information, please call the library: 860 364-5041.
The Mission of the Friends of the Hotchkiss Library is to support the Library’s staff and Board in their ongoing activities through advocacy, volunteering and fund-raising, as well as to find ways to broaden our appeal and so widen participation in library activities.
