Carol Asher's Memoir Workshops
In the recent fall, the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon was delighted to host author Carol Asher, who offered a memoir writing workshop. After several sessions, each student wrote their own memoir with Asher's guidance. Currently, each student has recorded their memoir at Sharon's local NPR affiliate, Robin Hood Radio, and you can currently hear them on the radio. Below are links each student's memoir in podcast form. The class was such as success that Asher's new memoir workshop began in mid- January at the library, where she is working with new students as well as others who are continuing on from the fall session. Enjoy each student's beautiful work. Anyone who is interested or would like more information can call the library at 860-364-5041.

Each year one of our most popular events is our annual used book sale. Held the same weekend as our book signing, it has been a perennial favorite of the community for close to 20 years. The Library accepts donations of books in good shape (no textbooks, encyclopedia sets, condensed books, moldy or mildewed books, please) year round in order to offer the best selection of titles at very reasonable prices.
We also have a good a number of rare and valuable books for sale in our silent auction. The day after the book sale, Sunday, all books are half price.
